Andrew and Lawrence first met in high school. Lawrence took Andy's sister to his Year 11 formal. They're just friends.

After various exploits in improvisation comedy over four Melbourne comedy festivals they had a falling out over artistic differences and went their separate ways in the world of solo stand up. Lawrence came runner up in the National Final of Raw Comedy in 2000. Andy appeared at the Raw Comedy National Final in 2002.

Lawrence wrote and performed two solo shows (SUCKER and SKEPTIC) that enjoyed successful seasons in various cities including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, Dublin Fringe and at the Sydney Opera House. SUCKER won Best Solo Show the 2001 Melbourne Fringe. Lawrence is a regular on 3RRR's breakfast radio and In Siberia Tonight (SBS - TV).

Andy wrote and performed ANDREW McCLELLAND'S SOMEWHAT ACCURATE HISTORY OF PIRATES (1550-2017), a solo show that won the Comic's Choice Award at the 2004 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It enjoyed stellar success at the Adelaide, Dunedin and Edinburgh Fringes and is about to tour Sydney and Auckland.
